Red Dwarf is a British comedy franchise which primarily
comprises ten series (including a ninth mini-series named Back To Earth)
of a television science fiction sitcom that aired on BBC Two between
1988 and 1993 and from 1997 to 1999 and on Dave in 2009 and from 2012,
gaining a cult following. The series was created by Rob Grant and Doug
Naylor, who also wrote the first six series. The show originated from a
recurring sketch, Dave Hollins: Space Cadet part of the mid-1980s BBC
Radio 4 comedy show Son of Cliché, also scripted by Grant and Naylor. In
addition to the television episodes, there are four bestselling novels,
two pilot episodes for an American version of the show, a radio version
produced for BBC Radio 7, tie-in

The Guardians of the Galaxy are a fictional superhero team that appear in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning formed the team from existing characters created by a variety of writers and artists. They are the second team to operate under the name, following the original team created by Arnold Drake and Gene Colan in 1969. These Guardians first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy (vol. 2) #1 (May 2008). A feature film is set for release in August 2014.

Divergent is the debut novel of American author Veronica Roth and is the first installment in a trilogy. It is set within a dystopian version of Chicago. The novel has been compared to similar young adult books such as The Hunger Games because of its theme and target audience. Roth has said that the idea for the series was born while she was studying in college.Summit Entertainment purchased the media rights to the book, and as of October 2012 is in the process of casting the film, also titled Divergent. The second novel in the trilogy, Insurgent, was released on May 1, 2012. The third book is expected to be released on October 22, 2013 in the US.

It is a remake of the 1987 film of the same name, portraying the character's development into an officer transformed into a cyborg. The film stars Joel Kinnaman in the title role, with Gary Oldman as Dr. Robert Norton, Michael Keaton as Raymond Sellars, Samuel L. Jackson as Pat Novak, Abbie Cornish as Ellen Murphy, and Jackie Earle Haley as Maddox.Screen Gems first announced a remake in 2005, but it was halted one year later. Darren Aronofsky and David Self were originally assigned to direct and write the film, respectively, for a tentative 2010 release. However, the film was delayed numerous times, and Padilha signed on in 2011. In March 2012, MGM announced a tentative 2013 release, but the film was moved to 2014. The principal characters were cast from March to July 2012. Principal photography began in September 2012 in Toronto, with additional locations in Hamilton, and Detroit in the United States.The film is scheduled for release in the United States on February 7, 2014.

Star Trek is an American science fiction entertainment franchise created by Gene Roddenberry and currently under the ownership of CBS. The franchise began in 1966 with the television series Star Trek later referred to as Star Trek: The Original Series.
